Groundwater contamination update & meeting notice

Shelby Township will be holding a "town hall" meeting at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 to present the results of the environmental testing performed at the former Ford/Visteon site. The meeting will be held in the Board Room at the Shelby Twp. Municipal Building at 52700 Van Dyke and the general public is invited to attend.

Shelby Twp. Supervisor Rick Stathakis will provide introductory remarks and both Shelby Twp. Attorney Rob Huth and Dr. James Dragun will make presentations. 

Mr. Huth says that the meeting aims to:

• help disseminate the information contained within the thousands of pages of reports regarding the spread of contaminated groundwater from the former plant site
• answer the public's questions
• update the community on the status of the lawsuit filed by the township against Indiana Metals, Inc., the firm that demolished the buildings that formerly occupied this site.

Mr. Huth told the press in announcing this "town hall" meeting that, "I would urge anyone with any interests in what is going on at the former industrial complex, and what will be done there, to attend this meeting. We will stay until everyone has had their questions answered."

2013 Clean Up Day and Garage Sale Dates

The 2013 Central Park Community Clean Up Day will be held on Saturday, April 27th beginning at 9:00 AM.  Meet at the walkway path next to the South Pond (the one closest to 22 Mile Rd. ).

The 2013 Central Park Community Garage Sale will be held Thursday-Friday-Saturday May 16, 17 & 18, 2013.  Times are 9:00 AM until 4:00 PM.  All residents of the Gardens, Meadows and Manors communities are welcome to participate (Kensington residents cannot participate because of their Bylaws and lack of parking).

2013 Annual Membership Meeting

The 2013 Annual Membership Meeting of the Central Park Master Association will be held on Wed. April 10, 2013 at the Shelby Twp. Municipal Building.  Sign-in begins at 6:00 PM and the meeting will start at 7:00 PM.  If you are unable to attend, please fill out the General Proxy you recently received in the mail and return it to either Kramer-Triad or give it to a neighbor who will be attending so that we can use your proxy to count towards making the quorum.
